It’s pretty simple. We gather sensory, chemistry and data that wineries provide and combine them, creating a wine profile or “fingerprint”. We then use that data to find wines similar to one another and present those to the consumer, based on what they have told us they already like (done by adding a wine into their favorites).
A “match” uses more points and is closer and more definitive, whereas similar includes a broader range of wines, including blends and other varietal with similar qualities.
A winery is a good fit if it wants to gain more exposure, sell more wine directly to the consumer, and is willing to put together deals to present to the consumer. Working with WineMatch is a marketing partnership.
Wines will cost between $85 to $120, depending on just how many wines you would like to submit. The more wines you want us to profile, the lower the cost per wine. And the wine profile credits never expire.
It typically takes two to three weeks after we receive them. We do lay them down for at least a few days in our cellar to let them settle from the travel. Sometimes, if there are chemistry or others issues in question, we may need to research or verify information with an outside lab or review with the winery. We do have a guarantee that if we do not publish your wine within 30 days, we will credit you a wine profile credit.
It adds to the exposure of your winery, as we not only represent your wines, but your winery as well. We do that by allowing you to add tasting room hours and list events at no charge which we share with consumers. As we also push our information out social media outlets, your good name receives even more exposure.
To get started, simply sign up at winery.winematch.com, we’ll review your information and approve you the very next business day. It’s that easy.
Remember, we are winery to consumer enablers, and as such, there needs to be a reason folks buy from you. A match is a good reason, but beyond that, you have to overcome the cost of shipping. You do that by offerings deals on 3-packs or more which enables you to include things like shipping and packaging and still make it profitable for you and a deal for the consumer. Deals are free to add and can apply to more than one wine.
Adding events will add interest to your winery profile page. Consumers will be more interested in learning about, visiting and purchasing from your winery if they see your winery as more accessible. Additionally, events get automatically pushed out to consumers that have placed one of your wines as a favorite.
The winery is responsible for taking and fulfilling the order. The consumer will contact you directly, based on the information you provide to WineMatch. If you have loaded a deal, they will reference that information when placing the order.
The transaction is between you and the consumer. Winematch works to make the connection, then allows you work the transaction so you end up with the new relationship.

The profile fee of $85 to $120 per wine is the entire cost. It’s a pay-for-play and the great thing is that any unused profile credits can be used any time, as they never expire. So if you want to buy 12 and use half of them this year and the other half next year, it works for us if it works for you.
We have a few “Reminder-type” e-mails we send out that you can ‘opt out’ of if you wish. Bear in mind as this is a winery-to-consumer model, it’s important that wine availability is kept up to date. We won’t send you more than one winery-specific e-mail per month and you can opt out from any of them, but they are really simply gentle reminders so that your wine and winery information are kept up to date without you having to remember to update the information.
WineMatch respects your information and will not share it without your permission.
